Hoi An tastes

Hoi An (4h)

A quiet bicycle ride through the streets of Hoi An will start around 4pm, with stops at local places serving dishes that are the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine. The first is Banh Mi - a small baguette with a mixture of fresh and pickled vegetables and the addition of meat. Then we will stop in a small private house to try Cao Lau, a pasta dish, often defined as half soup, half salad, which is the culinary showcase of Hoi An. By the way, we will participate in the preparation of the dish along with the collection of fresh herbs from the garden. Another dish we'll try is Banh Xeo - an omelette in a rice cake. At the next stop, we'll take a break from local dishes, replacing them with a local drink. One of the colonial influences that we can taste is beer combined with French cheese and the addition of rice wine. In the evening we will go to the river restaurant to enjoy grilled fresh seafood, vegetables and pork. The trip will end with a stop at a local cafe, where you will be able to taste coffee along with local sweets. We will finish around 8pm.
