Colonial Saigon

If you like something unusual it's the perfect idea to spend time in Hanoi. We will show you places and situations that may surprise even Vietnamese.

The trip begins with pickup from the indicated hotel or collection point in District 1, then traveling by rickshaws we will go to see typical of the period of French domination in Indochina objects, which include built in the nineteenth century: Opera and City Hall (now the building of the People's Committee in Ho Chi Minh City), Reunification Palace , previously known as the Independence Palace during the Republic of Vietnam, a building built in the 1960s, one of the best designed buildings in its time. Later we will familiarize ourselves with the classics of religious architecture in Southeast Asia, Notre Dame Cathedral , and look at the monument of Our Lady the Queen of Peace , famous for "Mary's tears", a gift from the Vatican to the Vietnamese people, and a moment later we will enter the building of the Main Post Office designed in the Eiffle studio.

 

After getting acquainted with the main objects of "colonial Saigon" , we will go to the Emerald Emperor Pagoda , known for visits from the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and then towards the local Tan market Dinh , where we will get to know the local culture of trade in the market and eat a tasty meal ( pho-Saigon ) in a local restaurant. There is a possibility of shopping at the marketplace.

 

Return to District 1 on your own (you can arrange a taxi). During the trip you will be accompanied by a Polish pilot. Time travel by rickshaws 3 hours. Admission tickets are not included in the price.

Saigon Chinatown in Polish

The trip begins with a meeting with a Polish pilot at the hotel. Then we will go by rickshaws to District 5, i.e. the Chinese district - Cholon . Our first point will be the Ba Tien Hau temple - the goddess of the sea, patrons of fishermen and sailors. Then we will go for a short walk to Herbalists Street - a place where you can take advantage of Chinese medicine and the 18th-century Quan Am pagoda - founded by Chinese refugees from Fujian.

 

Continuing our journey by rickshaws we will pass under the church of Franciszek Ksawery - this is where the famous president of South Vietnam - Ngo Dinh Diem was arrested, passing a street specializing in material sales. The name Choonon means Great Market , so we will also go to see the largest Saigon market Binh Tay .

 

After shopping, we will go for a Vietnamese Chinese lunch in a traditional eatery Tung Hung . The trip will end under the highest skyscraper in Saigon - Bitexco Tower , where you will be able to enter the 51st floor of the building and see the panorama of the city, payable viewpoint. Condensed Old Saigon

We will set off by car from the indicated hotel, and then we will head towards objects typical of the era of the French colonization in Saigon , which include the building of the Opera and City Hall . In the process we will see the Hotel Rex known from the first American Marines, later the CIA headquarters in Vietnam. The program begins with a walking tour of the colonial route (viewed from outside). Saigon Opera House , Continental Hotel , Governor's Palace and Ho Chi Minh Monument, then Dong Khoi , we will come to the Notre Dame Cathedral (here sightseeing only if the building is open - it is not always open), then we will see the Main Post Office (inside) and we will devote a little time for small purchases and a short break.

 

Then a short walk to the Reunification Palace (only from outside). Then we will go to the Vietnam War Museum (admission to the Museum paid on our own).

 

After visiting the Museum, we'll get on rickshaws and head towards the Emerald Emperor Pagoda , then we'll go to the area around Ben Thanh Market, where everyone will have the opportunity to try a traditional Vietnamese lunch ( pho + tra da soup). Time for shopping and ending the trip around 15 under the Ben Thanh bazaar.

Saigon for children

We will start our trip with a meeting at the hotel, from where we will go to the largest Saigon theme park, Suoi Tien, located for 55 hours with over 150 attractions for children and adults. After a few hours of entertainment we will go for lunch - to a special place dedicated to families with children. We will cross the Saigon River again and enter the oldest Vietnamese botanical garden - founded in 1865 by French botanists. Currently, there is also a zoo with over 550 species of animals . Our last point will be the traditional Vietnamese water puppet theater . After the performance we will return to the hotel. We provide care of pilot speaking your language. Cao Dai Temple and Cu Chi tunnels

We start the tour heading towards Tay Ninh , the place where the Cao Dai Temple is located, a religious movement combining elements of local religions with Christianity. One of the mystical members of the movement was Wiktor Hugo , who is considered a "saint" by the kaodaist community. Then we'll see rubber plantations , then head to Cu Chi , the legendary Vietcong tunnels during the Vietnam War. During the trip lunch in a typical local restaurant. Then we will return to Saigon. We start our tour with a visit to the Vietnam War Museum , in which we learn about the history of this conflict, forms of combat operations and see many exhibits of weapons used by the parties during the fighting. Then we will go to the Cu Chi , Vietcong tunnels, in which we will learn the different life forms of the members of this armed formation specializing in guerrilla warfare in the close vicinity of American and South Vietnamese troops. Military adventure in Cu Chi

We set off from the indicated hotel in historical jeeps on the way to Cu Chi , a place shrouded in legend thanks to the tunnels where the life of Vietcong , the legendary armed formation leading fighting against American forces during the Vietnam War . On site, we will be able to enter these tunnels and learn about guerrilla life . During the trip we will eat a small meal typical of the war and a tasty lunch in a local restaurant. Ben Tre - the Vietnamese capital of coconut

We start in Saigon, from where we travel about 90 kilometers to the province of Ben Tre, famous for its ubiquitous coconut palms and a network of small water channels.

 

After reaching the destination, we will start a cruise through the tropical scenery of the palm-lined canals. During the cruise we will stop at places such as a traditional brickyard , a coconut workshop , a family garden with tropical fruit , a coconut candy workshop and rice grass mat workshop. There, we will get on a local motor rickshaw (Xe Loi), which will take us to a delicious lunch with local specialties. After lunch, we will overcome the smallest canals with a small rowing boat and after the next change we will return to the shore. Then return to Saigon.

Cai Be market on the water

We set off on a route to Cai Be, to see Vietnamese everyday life on the water . After about 2 hours of travel we will see floating supermarkets in the Mekong Delta , which has been a source of income for local residents for generations. When sailing boats we will learn customs and crafts specific to this community. In addition, we will be able to taste local delicacies. During the trip lunch will be served in a typical restaurant. Then we will return to Saigon.

Can Gio adventure in mangrove forests

Can Gio is on the list of UNESCO biosphere reserves and is one of the most important wetlands in Vietnam, homeing over 200 species of fauna and over 52 species of plants . From Saigon we will reach the Vam Sat port in Can Gio . From here, by boat, we will sail to the area inhabited by bats and change to a small rowing boat to be able to calmly admire the fascinating landscapes and forest inhabitants , such as bats. During the breeding season, we will walk along the path to the watchtower, where you can see thousands of birds . Then we will go to lunch at a local restaurant and see the crocodile lake . Around the lake you can see wild monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Return to Saigon.
